As a flagship initiative in Shanghai’s efforts to become an international consumption hub, the “Shanghai Summer” Global Shopping Festival aims to create a world-class summer urban consumer experience. On July 4, the 2025 “Shanghai Summer” officially launched, featuring over 300 vibrant and distinctive events under the theme “Easy to Visit, Fun to Explore, Great to Shop.”

With a city-wide mobilization of resources, this year’s festival extends a warm invitation to global travelers, offering diverse, immersive, and exciting consumer journeys. Covering sectors such as commerce, tourism, culture, and sports, “Shanghai Summer” showcases the city’s dynamic summer appeal and growing international influence.

On the morning of April 11th, the kick-off ceremony of the 2024 "FIRST in Shanghai" Global Promotion, jointly organized by the Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Jing'an District Government, and undertaken by ACTIVATION GROUP, was successfully held at Zhangyuan Garden. Hua Yuan, member of the Standing Committee and Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Committee, and Zhao Zhuping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Municipal Government, attended the event and officially launched the "FIRST in Shanghai" Global Promotion. Other relevant officials from the Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, the Municipal Greening and City Appearance Bureau, and the Jing'an District Government also attended the event. Additionally, more than 50 representatives of domestic and foreign brands, representatives of well-known urban landmarks in Shanghai, and media outlets were also present. 

ACTIVATION GROUP was honored to deeply participate in the entire planning process of "FIRST in Shanghai", including naming the initiative, designing the logo, inviting brand guests, and hosting the kick-off event.

The WDCC 2023 Overseas Exhibition hosted by Shanghai Design Week | DESIGN TO WONDERLAND London successfully concluded on September 29, 2023 at China Exchange in London, carrying more channels for Chinese design brands to communicate with overseas, experiencing the design styles of the two cities in close proximity, and empowering the brand's voice.

On September 26th, the 2023 World Design Cities Conference (WDCC2023), hosted by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and supported by UNESCO and the National Committee of UNESCO in China, officially opened. The theme of this conference is "Boundless Design, Creating Everything", with the mission of "Building a Global Design Cooperation and Exchange Platform, Exploring the Road of Design Leading High Quality Development, and Promoting Design to Fill Cities and Lives Everywhere". We gather heavyweight guests and leading brands to create a world-class design forefront vane, innovation source, and new product debut.

On July 23rd, the five-day LaLiga Club China Tour came to a successful conclusion in Shanghai. Three Spanish league ambassadors Iker Casillas, Fernando Morientes and Luis Garcia, Chinese Super League star Wu Lei, and 100 football experts gathered in Shanghai with enthusiastic fans to ignite the enthusiasm of football this summer.

The 2023 18th International Architecture Exhibition la 'Biennale di Venezia Pavilion held its opening event on May 22 in Venice, Italy, showcasing the changes and improvements in Chinese architecture and living environment over the past 40 years. Appointed by the exhibition planning team for this exhibition, Shanghai Design Week was fortunate to participate in the construction of the China National Pavilion at the 18th Venice International Architecture Biennale, responsible for the entire exhibition.
